Suspension Equipment for Guide Ropes - SS/WM Glands
This gland is supplied for the suspension of ropes in those cases where fixing by white metal or resin fixing is specified. Design of the cone chambers satisfies United Kingdom National Coal Board recommendations.
Normally the base is supplied solid but can if required be of split construction as for the SS/WF/NU type of glands.
The glands are made from electric furnace cast steel to BS 3100: 1976 Grade A1 as are the split bases. Solid bases are supplied in mild steel to BS 4360: 1979, Grade 43A. Shackles and pins, if required are of high tensile steel to BS 3032: 1958.
All glands are proof load tested to twice the safe working load.
