Suspension Equipment for Guide Ropes - Type SS/WF/NU Glands
This gland has been developed from the “NU” type and has several features that make it particularly suited for the suspension of guide or rubbing ropes. The spherical seating enables the rope to be turned periodically to present fresh surfaces to the guide rope shoes, and provides compensating adjustment for an uneven settlement of the headframe making vertical alignment of the rope in the gland easier.
The gland casing is fully machined from the solid in steel to EN10025 Grade S355, while the interlocking wedges and two bolt clamps are machined from steel to EN10025 Grade S275.
All glands are proof load tested to twice the safe working load.
