Lifting & Manoeuvring Attachments - Type MG Glands
A feature of this gland which is primarily designed for rope lifting and manoeuvring, is that the case may be unbolted (and the rope released) while the entire attachment is still held by rings or chains coupled to its shackles. A gland of this design, but incorporating a flat base, similar to that on the “NU” glands is available.
The gland casing is fully machined from the solid in steel to EN10025 Grade S355, while the interlocking wedges and two bolt clamps are machined from steel to EN10025 Grade S275. The shackles and pins of high tensile steel to BS 3032: 1958.
All glands are proof load tested to twice the safe working load.
